Lomond's Dark ReflectionPosted by Alistair Keddie (Glasgow, United Kingdom) on 29 December 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Autumn woodlands reflect in a mirror smooth Loch Lomond on an overcast and gloomy day. The shores at the northern end of Loch Lomond are lined with native woodland's, mainly oak trees. These produce some fine colour each autumn when the leaves begin to die off and fall. Not this day though as thick and heavy cloud stops almost all light from getting through, or so it feels. A heavy wet dark day but with the most remarkable calm on the loch that allows it to perfectly reflect the surrounding trees and compensates for the lack of colour. Seemed only right to process as black and white, with a focus on tone and texture's. Welcome to big Alba photography and the fine art photographic work of Alistair Keddie, a photographer, artist and animated film maker from Scotland with a deep passion for photographing the landscape.
