Water Powers

The Loch Sloy hydro station lights up as twilight falls at Inveruglas on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Shooting as the twilight fell along the shores of Loch Lomond, I grabbed some shots of the Loch Sloy hydro station at Inveruglas as its lights came on. Its an unusual choice of subject for me usually preferring to avoid evidence of man in the landscape but I've been noticing more examples that seem to lend themselves to the natural grandeur. Maybe its something to do here with industrial scale matching the scale of the hills? Or maybe its just the quality of light and being in the wrong place at the right time? I not sure, but I was struck by the dramatic sweep of pipes running down the side of Ben Vorlich as the mountains darkened in the clear autumn air, scraps of cloud beaming pink in late evening alpenglow.
